LOVE is a beautiful thing

I made this card this morning for a friend who's getting married today. Can you see the stitches on the left and top sides? I like that the "love" is behind the white see through stuff :)

Peanut Butter Granola

So I tried a new granola recipe this morning. It's really simple and it took me about five minutes to put it together! (Haha well, it actually took me a little longer than that, because my first batch burned. I had to try again.)

First, you melt the margarine and peanut butter in the saucepan.

Next, you add the honey, vanilla, and salt. Stir the mixture together until it's nice and smooth. Now here's the part where you add the oats.

Haha I had a little trouble getting my oat bucket opened up before I started. I eventually got it partially opened with a hammer, and it was enough to get the oats out that I needed. Dang, I need to get one of those bucket opener thing-a-ma-jigs!

When the oats are all coated nicely, you dump the granola onto an ungreased cookie sheet and spread them out evenly. (I think I spread mine out too much on my first batch, plus 375 was a little too hot on my oven.)

Here's my first batch when it's about halfway done. I should've taken it out and stirred it around a little bit, because the edges and the bottoms got burned after the full 10 minutes.

Good bye poor burnt granola....

Maybe the birds will at least enjoy some of it.

Well, on the second batch, I turned my oven down to 325,

this time I didn't spread the granola out so far on the cookie sheet,

then I stirred it every few minutes, and I had to cook it just a little bit longer than 10 minutes to get the nice golden brown crispiness!

The Gardens at Thanksgiving Point

Matt and I went to Thanksgiving Point yesterday for $2 Tuesday.

One of my favorite parts is that there's running water throughout

the whole garden .

And not only that, but you can hear the sound of rushing water from the waterfalls in the distance. That totally made it for me :)

You should definitely go if you have any free time between 10 am and 8 pm on a Tuesday!!! (I think this is only for August. One more week!)

The Nanny Job

I have been Nanny to the cutest little kids in the whole world! I finished nannying them the end of July, because my husband and I moved away to be closer to school. I miss them! :(

This is Dalaney. She is almost 3 years old, and is such a sweetheart! Haha she makes me laugh. In almost every picture of her, you can see gum sticking out of her mouth! Instead of "cute", she says "tute"! She can't say her "c" sounds. When it's time to pick up the other two from school, she'll say, "Let's doe dit tiddos!" (Let's go get kiddos.)

Clayton just turned 6. He really tries to be this rough and tough

hunter/cowboy like his dad, but he has just about the softest little heart in the whole world.

He always wears his cowboy boots,

Haha as Dalaney would say, "So Tute!"

Okay, here's Kenna. She will be turning 8 in October.

She is such a thoughtful, helpful and

caring young lady.

She always wants to help make lunch, or do the dishes, or any other jobs that need doing.

She always sets the table for

dinner, too. It's completely adorable :)

She loves animals! They have a little dog named Emmy, and Kenna teaches her to be obedient and to do all kinds of fun tricks.
